About Murray Kennel Company and Our Foldable Dog Crates
Murray Kennel Company was created in a college apartment by a veterinary student (and his dog Heidi) after he became frustrated with traditional bulky dog crates. His limited space and unappealing old crate inspired him to begin his own small business. After years of research and prototype design, we are proud to offer an innovative, American-made dog crate that is lightweight, portable, and also stores easily in your home.
Our mission is to provide an ultra-portable dog crate which will bring an effortless traveling experience to our customers. Along with being the perfect sanctuary for your pup, this makes the ideal dog crate for both on-the-go and at home!
The face of our company, Heidi, was the original influence behind Murray Kennel Company. She is a spunky Australian Cattle Dog whose antics motivated her Dad to create a visually appealing crate that fits in small living spaces while allowing her to travel with him on every occasion!
Humble Beginnings
Murray Kennel Company was started in a small apartment, and every basis of our design is centered around just that! Space saving and efficiency are what our company is built on. We also believe a dog crate should not be an eyesore in your home, but instead a visually appealing crate that fits your home's aesthetic. These two reasons were the driving force behind Murray Kennel Company, along with my best bud Heidi.
Award Winning Design
In 2022, Murray Kennel Company won The University of Missouri’s Entrepreneur Quest Competition, an 8-week workshop for new business ventures that concluded with a pitch competition.
Out of 50 participants, we were awarded first place and provided with start up funding for our business.
